With this project we are supporting a Hawai'i based non-profit organization in reducing its operating costs by replacing grid power with solar power. This
leads to additional resources (energy savings) for the support low-income families while reducing emissions.

This project has helped Hawaiian Community Assets (HCA) in installing a photo-voltaic system on Hawai'i’s first-and-only Financial Opportunity Center in Hilo! CarbonBuddy was able to collect >10% of the total project costs to support HCA to partially fund the installation of the system and allow the local nonprofit organization, Hawaiian Community Assets, to dedicate over $35,000 in energy cost savings from the project to the delivery of free financial education and counseling to low- and moderate-income Hawai'i children, jobseekers, and business owners over the next 5 years alone as they work toward the development of sustainable, self-sufficient local economies.
